Context
I'm a software developer at heart. I have always considered relevant to my interest anything software, ie as soon as the machine is up and running. This focus has lead me to not only be ignorant about hardware, but also I started to get scared of anything related to hardware, and electronics inner working in general.
For the past few months and years though, as I'm getting more experienced in software, I'm reaching the boundaries of some of the opportunities offered to me as a software developer. I have decided to not be scared of anything anymore, and attack upfront. To this end, I mean to become proficient as a hobbyist electrical engineer. This is not a career change. I merely want to be able to select and assemble the right components to build anything I want. Only that.
